Fractional CMO Ireland

A senior marketer in the business — for the time you need one.

An Irish SME can bring in experienced marketing leadership without making a full-time executive hire. As fractional CMO, I join the leadership team, own the marketing direction and stay accountable for moving the work forward.

The role

Working as part of the business.

I work as part of the business. That means understanding the numbers, the sales reality, the people, the customer and the trade-offs behind every marketing decision.

The job is to decide where marketing can make the biggest commercial difference, align the team and partners around that direction, and keep the work moving.

I remain the senior point of ownership on every engagement, supported by a significant network of strategic partners across specialist areas of marketing. They extend Method’s capability when the work requires it.

What I can own

From setting the direction to keeping the work moving.

Direction

Commercially grounded strategy, positioning, priorities, planning and budgets.

Leadership

A clear marketing voice in the management team and confident decisions across functions.

People & partners

Roles, briefs, capability, agency management and the right specialist support.

Performance

Measures the leadership team can use, regular reporting and a way to connect activity to outcomes.

Delivery

Hands-on momentum across campaigns, content, digital, CRM, websites and go-to-market work.

Capability

Better systems, clearer ownership and stronger internal marketing confidence.

A good fit

The businesses where this model works best.

Usually a fit

  • An established Irish SME with a clear growth ambition
  • A founder or MD who needs a senior marketing counterpart
  • Good people or partners, but no one owns the whole plan
  • A transition, repositioning or growth stage that needs leadership
  • A willingness to make decisions and give marketing a seat at the table

Probably not a fit

  • You only need a supplier for one executional task
  • Marketing is expected to fix a product, pricing or sales problem on its own
  • There is no access to the leadership team or commercial information
  • The brief is simply “do more social media” without a business objective

Common questions

Before we speak.

How much time does a fractional CMO spend in the business?

It depends on the stage, scope and existing team. Some businesses need a regular leadership rhythm; others need more concentrated support during a transition. We agree the level after understanding the job.

Do you replace an in-house marketing team or agency?

Usually no. I give the team and partners clearer direction, make ownership explicit and help the business get more from the capability it already has. Where gaps exist, I can help fill them through the Method network.

Is this only for businesses in Ireland?

I am based in Cork and Ireland is the primary focus. I also work with businesses and teams across the UK and USA where the fit and working rhythm make sense.

Do you publish day rates or packages?

No. After our first conversation, I’ll recommend a scope based on the responsibility, pace and level of involvement required.

A useful first conversation

Does your marketing need senior ownership?

Tell me where the business is going, what is getting in the way and what a better outcome would look like. I’ll tell you honestly if I can help.
